Investor Communications & Marketing Lead (Part-Time)
Marketing & Communications · Part-time
New York, NY, USA · Remote
USD 50-50 / hour
WHO WE ARE
XRC Ventures is an early-stage venture fund investing in technologies that consumer brands and retailers need to stay competitive. Since 2015, XRC has invested in over 150 Pre-Seed through Series A startups across three distinct fund strategies: Accelerator Fund (pre-Seed to Seed stage), Opportunity Fund (Seed to Series A stage), and Brand Capital Fund (Seed to Series A consumer product companies).
We are in a pivotal phase of growth, actively raising institutional capital and building the systems, team, and relationships to scale our limited partner (LP) base. This is an opportunity to join a small, high-performing team at a meaningful inflection point.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will own XRC’s voice and communications strategy for reaching LP and corporate targets, determining who we reach, when, through which channels, and with what message. You will translate inputs into tailored content for distinct audiences and create the copy yourself.
This role combines strategy with hands-on execution. You will build communication frameworks, set outreach and follow-up cadences, create messaging aligned with each audience’s priorities, present results internally, and use HubSpot engagement data to refine the approach. The writing must be sharp, credible, and distinctly human, with a clear point of view that resonates with sophisticated audiences.
Please note this is not a media relations role, but you will work alongside XRC’s VP of Public Relations from time to time.
WHO YOU ARE
You are proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented, with a strong understanding of what motivates people to act. You research each ideal customer profile (ICP), tailor the message to the audience and moment, and create content that resonates. You have a track record of driving successful newsletter, email, and social marketing campaigns from strategy through execution. You use AI to work more efficiently, but rely on your judgment and voice to make the difference between a message that earns a response and one that gets ignored. You then use engagement data to understand what worked and improve the next campaign.

OUR EVOLUTION
XRC Ventures has evolved structurally since our inception as the XRC Labs accelerator in 2015. From the onset, we brought together a retail and consumer ecosystem of financial leaders, retailers, brands and founders to inform and accelerate the growth of innovative startups.
We migrated from a traditional accelerator, which is often characterized as spray-and-pray, to a pre-seed and seed investing model that identifies and delivers the bespoke services needed to ensure that the startups continue to scale and achieve their next round of funding effortlessly.
We are actively investing in experienced talent to grow the fund into our next phase. We have learned many lessons, and our most important is that human capital is the most valuable asset. We are prioritizing excellence and people who can hit the ground running from day one. XRC Ventures is a small team, and we give our employees ownership to contribute across the organization in a meaningful way.
