WHO WE ARE

XRC Ventures (formerly XRC Labs) is an early stage venture fund for the next generation of disruptors in the retail technology, consumer healthtech and consumer goods sectors. Our investments span the entire end-to-end consumer experience: commerce enablement, nextgen commerce channels, consumer healthtech, sustainable commerce, supply chain & logistics and consumer brands. We are in a pivotal phase of growth, actively raising institutional capital and building the systems, team and relationships to scale our LP base. This is an opportunity to join a small, high-performing team at a meaningful inflection point.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You are the operating system of the fund and the trusted adviser and right hand to the Managing Partner. Your job is to make sure everything moves, and to expand the Managing Partner's bandwidth by anticipating needs before they are raised. When a priority is set, whether by the Managing Partner or through the strategy workstream, you own that it actually gets built, on time, with a clear owner on every piece.

You are the eyes and ears of the Managing Partner across the team. You always know what is moving, who owns it, what is blocked, what slipped, and what needs a decision from leadership this week. You act as a gatekeeper on the Managing Partner's time and involvement, bringing them into a project or decision at the right moment and keeping lower-value items off their plate. You quarterback and orchestrate across the team: when the Managing Partner decides to host an LP dinner in a new city, you turn that intent into an executable plan. You set the deadlines, stand up the tracker, and hold every owner to their piece so the room is full and the Managing Partner walks in prepared.

This is the senior seat that inherits and owns the fund's operating system over time: the fundraising process, the CRM architecture, the reporting cadence, and the playbooks the strategy workstream designed. You take them from design into steady-state ownership.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a senior operator with high integrity and a high bar for quality, and you anticipate questions before they are asked. You have an ownership reflex: if it is unclear who has something, you take it. You thrive in a fast-paced environment that changes daily, you are calm with multiple open loops, and you are relentless about closure while never letting accuracy slip. You read a room and know which decisions are yours and which belong to the Managing Partner.

HOW YOU THINK

  • Ownership reflex: unowned work is your work until it has an owner

  • Bias to closure: you push things to done, not to almost-done

  • Orchestrator, not soloist: you get the right owner on each piece and keep them in sync

  • Anticipate and protect the Managing Partner's time and attention

  • Calm under many open loops

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Strategic Planning and Project Management

  • Turn strategy and Managing Partner priorities into projects with named owners, deadlines, and trackers

  • Run the weekly operating rhythm: what is moving, who owns what, what is blocked, what slipped

  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Public Relations, Communications, Events, and Fundraising, and hold the timeline on events

  • Take the systems the strategy workstream designs and get them adopted and kept in use

Direct Support of the Managing Partner

  • Act as a gatekeeper on the Managing Partner's time, monitoring information flow and surfacing the right items at the right moment

  • Develop internal and external presentations alongside Communications, including newsletters, reports, pitch decks, and speeches

  • Prepare internal briefing documents and research for partner meetings, conferences, and strategic priorities

  • Surface the decisions that need the Managing Partner and prepare them to be made quickly

**
Fundraising operations and materials**

  • Maintain and refresh core fundraising materials: data room, investor deck, corporate overview deck, DDQ, and HubSpot-linked files and blurbs

  • Coordinate LPA and sub-booklet sends and track signatures

  • Support capital call emails and tracking

  • Support inbound diligence requests and keep investor-facing materials current

Investor relations and fund reporting

  • Own the quarterly LP update and custom LP report process end to end

  • Develop financial models that depict fund performance and potential to current and prospective LPs, and translate key financials into presentation-ready tearsheets

  • Interface with the accounting partner to ensure FP&A activities are executed

  • Run prep for recurring LP meetings including monthly and quarterly updates and annual LP Day

  • Own fund tracking, startup revenue analytics, and fund reporting, running the dashboards the Principal, Strategy & Operations designed

  • Maintain portfolio tracking and the fund model, and handle benchmark submissions (Stepstone / Carta)

Firm Operations

  • Manage the meeting cadence of the leadership team, ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved

  • Plan and lead company retreats, stepbacks, and other internal meetings

  • Coordinate the annual strategic planning process, and develop and track internal KPIs, presenting progress and milestones regularly

  • Oversee CRM reporting and segments: create reports and pull segments on demand for the Managing Partner and the team, and flag pipeline gaps and stalled conversations each week

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff, or in operations, consulting, or a fast-paced operating role, ideally including an analyst program

  • A proven record of driving many workstreams to completion across multiple stakeholders

  • Strong financial modeling and fluency in financial statement analysis, with the ability to build clear growth models in Excel

  • Strong presentation skills, both building the deck and communicating live to senior audiences

  • Exceptional organization and written and verbal communication

  • Hands-on comfort with HubSpot: tasks, data properties, deal stages, records, reports, and segments

  • Sound judgment on what rises to the Managing Partner and what you handle

  • AI fluency: comfortable with Claude and quick to incorporate new tools into your workflow, with an appetite for self-teaching and experimentation

OUR EVOLUTION

XRC Ventures has evolved structurally since our inception as the XRC Labs accelerator in 2015. From the onset, we brought together a retail and consumer ecosystem of financial leaders, retailers, brands and founders to inform and accelerate the growth of innovative startups.

We migrated from a traditional accelerator, which is often characterized as spray-and-pray, to a pre-seed and seed investing model that identifies and delivers the bespoke services needed to ensure that the startups continue to scale and achieve their next round of funding effortlessly.

We are actively investing in experienced talent to grow the fund into our next phase. We have learned many lessons, and our most important is that human capital is the most valuable asset. We are prioritizing excellence and people that can hit the ground running from day one. XRC Ventures is a small team, and we give our employees ownership to contribute across the organization in a meaningful way.
