WHO WE ARE
XRC Ventures is a multi-strategy venture fund that invests at the intersection of consumer behavior and technology, a $2 trillion market that has been increasingly overlooked by the VC community. Since 2016, XRC has invested in over 140 Pre-Seed through Series A startups across three distinct fund strategies - Accelerator Fund, Opportunity Fund, and Brand Capital Fund.
OUR EVOLUTION
XRC Ventures has gone through numerous iterations since our inception as the XRC Labs accelerator in 2015. From the onset, we brought together a retail and consumer ecosystem of financial leaders, retailers, brands and founders to inform and accelerate the growth of innovative startups. Through those relationships and our over 140 companies invested, XRC Ventures has grown in the number of funds and AUM.
We migrated from a traditional accelerator, which is often characterized as spray-and-pray or fund-and-forget, to a pre-seed investing model that identifies and delivers the bespoke services needed to ensure that the startups achieve their next round of funding effortlessly.
We are actively investing in experienced talent to grow the fund into our next phase. We have learned many lessons, and our most important is that human capital is the most valuable asset. We are prioritizing excellence and people that can hit the ground running from day one. XRC Ventures is a small team, and we give our employees ownership to contribute across the organization in a meaningful way.
WHO YOU ARE
An MBA student with an interest in rolling up their sleeves and learning more about venture capital. The MBA intern will play a critical role in our team, driving special internal projects from the office of our Founding Partner, Pano Anthos. This position will require a strong sense of autonomy, taking end-to-end ownership of deliverables. An interest in both learning, and creating immediate value will be important.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Business and Corporate Development Support
- Support Founding Partner in corporate development efforts and track necessary follow ups.
- Collaborate with Founding Partner to develop a lead generation strategy and create touch points with new corporate prospects.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive ecosystem database to support the growing needs of XRC’s portfolio companies.
- Investor Relations Support
- Support Head of IR to prepare for LP meetings and track necessary follow ups.
- Support preparation for upcoming meetings, conducting research to better understand the investment preferences and requirements of prospective investors.
- Collaborate with the Head of IR to develop a lead generation strategy and create touch points with new LP prospects.
- Organize investor meetings, roadshows, and conferences to effectively communicate the organization's value proposition.
- Maintain data room for IR support.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain XRC’s internal CRM platform.
- Collaborate with leadership and marketing to draft quarterly investor updates.
- Utilize analytics to identify investor and corporate insights, trends, and opportunities, making data-driven recommendations to enhance investor and corporate relations strategies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum: Bachelors; MBA students, strongly encouraged
- Strong presentation skills, both in developing powerpoint, and live communication, required
- Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to translate ambiguity into discrete action
- Proactive, action-oriented; ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
- Versatile team-player
- Passion for consumer startups and the disruptive nature of this industry
- Familiarity with Affinity CRM or similar is a plus
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
- Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour
- DOL Status: Non Exempt, Hourly
- Part Time: 15 - 29 hours per week
- Temporary: 3-4 month term
- Location: US-based; remote okay
- This role will report to our Founding Partner’s Chief of Staff
