The role….

Due to significant growth of our retail channel and the expansion of retail partners, we are seeking an extremely motivated and talented Senior Manager of National Field Sales and Education. This is a newly created role and an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone to build a high functioning team & business.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for setting the strategy & goals for our retail business and then hiring and managing a freelance field team to support and meet those goals. You will create and build strategic partnerships with our retailers and educate internal (in-store) and external (freelance) teams on all Solawave’s assortment. You will be expected to deliver and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales plans while communicating and collaborating daily with internal teams.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven and goal-oriented leader who has build field teams in the skincare wholesale industry. Due to the technical nature of our products, we would love this individual to hold an active esthetics license (or have a strong desire to have one) as it will bring credibility to the field.

What you will do...

  • Identify, hire, train, and schedule the freelance team for retail.
  • Drive sales through regular store visits, providing brand education to support the achievement of sales and productivity goals.
  • Daily and weekly review of territory sales and education impact.
  • Build and manage all field team budgets, including freelance and travel expenses.
  • Provide excellent customer service and motivate the internal and external teams to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Lead masterclasses and events utilizing exceptional product knowledge.
  • Act as a brand ambassador; able to effectively relay our brand message(s) to internal and external teams.
  • Drive brand education to ensure teams are well-versed in brand messaging and brand experience at POS.
  • Follow up and follow through on daily business to ensure results.
  • Track performance and recognize when coaching is required to help support teams to achieve results.
  • Possess confident leadership skills when educating, selling, and building relationships with the customer and retailer.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and retailer store managers to foster opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Negotiate all corporately scheduled event dates with retailers and establish realistic and achievable retail event goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with the brand to ensure proper needs for the business are met.

What we are looking for…

  • 10+ years of experience in retail with a minimum of 5 years managing sales/education & freelance teams.
  • Deep understanding of the retail market and current beauty/skincare trends.
  • Must have previous experience partnering with prestige retailers.
  • Must have access to a car and have a valid driver’s license.
  • A current esthetics license is strongly preferred.
  • Experience training and educating freelance and store teams to achieve goals.
  • Ability to recognize inventory/stock issues, freelance staff performance, challenges etc.
  • Must have extensive and recent knowledge of the open sell, multi-branded environment, client profile, staff profile, and retailer-specific events.
  • Strategic thinker, enthusiastic, and able to think out of the box.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting in front of groups
  • Availability to work key business hours, including weekends.
  • Possess a solid understanding of financial metrics and company KPI's to provide weekly/monthly reporting and feedback to the Solawave leadership team.
  • High level of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and actionable plans, programs, and recommendations.
  • Strong time management, presentation, and communication
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time via car or place to designated territory.

Other fun details…

  • This role will report to the Head of Retail Sales & Marketing Strategy.
  • Our preference is that this role sits in either Chicago, Los Angeles or Dallas.
  • This role will require 50% travel to our various major markets within the US.
